Barber with Chemical Program

1500 Clock Hours (52 Weeks/12 Months)
A barber student should have 250 clock hours before working on the general public in a licensed school.

Course Description & Objectives

Once students complete the 1,200 clock hours needed to obtain their barber license they should have at minimum the beginning skills needed in order to pass the West Virginia State Barber Exam. They should also possess the skills needed to begin their career in the barbering field.

Students will be taught and tested in both theory and practical work. Each topic will begin with a lecture, followed by a demonstration. There will be occasional visual material used to further explain the topic. Assignments will also be given over each topic. Once the topic is complete there will be a written or practical test to ensure that each student has grasped the necessary material to move on.
